A young Black Bear heading out for its first year alone in the Coastal Rainforests of Vancouver Island.
In the early Spring of 2021 I headed out in hopes of getting a shot of a young Black Bear making its way through the forest towards a nearby meadow to feed. I had seen bears in this general area before so I thought my chances might be good. I tried a few places nearby first with no luck. Then I discovered this section of mature forest that I thought would provide a good opportunity. With a lot of luck I managed to get this shot on the first morning in this new spot. It never usually works out that way, but I'm happy it did.
